Matt Daniel
Director, Software Development— mdaniel@sagesol.com
Matt has been working in information technology since 1988 and in the legal arena since 1992. For many years, Matt had management duties at top 100 law firms such as Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom; Piper Rudnick; and Covington & Burling. Matt is the architect behind SAGE MindPort, the innovative Internet collaboration solution that helps law firms successfully manage large litigation cases. His recent projects include creating a portal application for an DC-based international law firm to automate its Intellectual Property practice, and creating a customized web portal for a financial management company.

Matt currently leads SAGE’s software development group that specializes in helping law firms maximize Internet and web technologies to be more productive, efficient, and effective. While Matt has thorough knowledge of advanced computer languages such as C++, Visual Basic, C# and VB.NET, he is an expert at tying together disparate applications and databases to create consolidated interfaces for the user. This reduces the user’s learning curve, letting them focus on what they do best, not managing multiple applications. Under his guidance, SAGE MindPort features integration with the desktop, letting users share documents directly from popular desktop applications.

Many of the applications Matt develops are based upon core technologies such as Microsoft .NET, SQL Server, Microsoft Index Server, and XML. In addition to many law firms, his applications are used by companies such as Met Life, Bear Stearns, JP Morgan and Smith Barney to name just a few.
